I hope you have an amazing Christmas!

Dear Family and Friends,
I don't have much to tell about this week but I would like to tell you about an Investigator we are currently teaching. His name is Beto and he is progressing so much. He came to church yesterday and told us he had arrived early so he could just feel the peace in the building. During the meeting Hermana Justiniano (one of the Hermana's that lives in the same apartment as me) did a special number. She sang silent night while playing the piano. Both my companion & I, Hermana Cuevas, turned to look at Beto and he was crying. We know he can feel the spirit and he loves it. He tries to feel it every chance he gets. We have been working with him to commit to a baptismal date. He doesn't feel he is ready but we will not give up any time soon!

This is me saying goodbye to Hermana Player. My first companion & trainer.

Me and Hermana Cuevas, my new companion.

I just think this picture is cute. I know it is blurry!

My companion Hermana Cuevas and I are getting along great. We always have a lot of fun doing missionary work. We talk to so many people and we are currently working on meeting with the members of our branch. We know as missionaries that the members are vital to missionary work and so with the help of the members we plan on finding the right people to teach and expanding our branch.
These are the other Hermanas that live with me.

By the way, this is my new district.

This is me with my sister's friend from BYU.

I love each and every one of you so much! I hope you each have such an amazing Christmas!

       Love,

       Hermana Gilchrist

Beto

Dear Family and Friends,

Beautiful area I serve in!

This week has been so good! I feel like I'm making a difference even if it is just by introducing the church to others.

Beautiful trees!

This week in my area we did had a lot of appointments and also a lot of finding. Many of our appointments fell through but because they did we were able to find people we wouldn't have found otherwise. Thankfully we were able to reschedule most of the appointments. However it is funny how the Lord works in that way. We gives us the perfect opportunity to find others in our missionary work.

My district. We had a booth at a fair type thing.. we talked to A TON of people!

One of the investigators we have is named Beto. Most of his family is less active. Only one of his brothers is active but is recently at home due to health problems. We have been getting so close with Beto in these past six weeks. When we finally were able to start the lessons with him he told us he believed what we told him was true. This week as we were leaving he told us that he is always sad when we leave because he somewhat loses the strong feeling in his heart (during lessons he always tells us how big his heart feels.). He knows this is the spirit because we are constantly telling him. He is so ready to receive the ordinances of baptism. He talks about how he wants the feeling he gets when we are there, all the time. We haven't been able to commit him to a date but he has said he would be baptized if he found everything to be true. Slowly we are getting him to pray. He reads all the time we just want him to pray to know. I love teaching the people here especially when I can see the change it is making in there hearts and lives.

I'm very sad that my amazing companion Hermana Player is leaving this next week. I will miss my Trainer (Mom). She has helped me so much. She is such an understanding and loving person. She is such an amazing missionary and I know everyone in her next area will be blessed to have her there!

Its me...Boo! My comp drew it.

I hope all is going well with everyone and hope to hear from you soon!

 Love,
       Hermana Gilchrist

** PS - She was not transferred. So the address on the right is still good!
